Credit Register is information system created by the Bank of Latvia that ensures collection, centralized accumulation and permanent storage of information about debtors and their liabilities. The goal is to be able to provide information about debtors to participants of the Register of Debtors, Financial and Capital Markets Commission and the debtors themselves.
In order to receive information about themselves from the Register of Debtors a private person or a legal entity must do the following:
- a private person must submit to the Bank of Latvia appropriate application in writing and produce passport or another personal identification document;
- authorised representative of legal entity must submit to the Bank of Latvia appropriate application in writing and a notarized power of attorney confirming his right to receive information from the Register of Debtors or a document, that certifies the right of the official to represent legal entity without special power of attorney, and passport or another personal identification document.
Information from the Register of Debtors will be issued personally to the private person or the authorised representative of a legal entity in course of five work days after receipt of application with the Register of Debtors.
